Sports Facility Project

The Builder Trainer Program is a partnership between IHANT, Department of Community Development, Sport and Cultural Affairs, ATSIC and Aherrenge Association. This program employs local staff as builder trainees to build housing on the community and become qualified builders along the way. The trainees were chosen by the community and are employed by Aherrenge Association.

The Builder Trainer lives on the community but is employed by Tangentyere who have responsibility for overseeing the construction of the houses in partnership with other agencies. This program commenced on Ampilatwatja Community in January 2003 and as of September 2003 the program has nearly completed two houses.
